The City of Burien’s 2015 Arts and Culture Grant Applications are now available, and the deadline to apply is Friday, Aug. 15. The city allocates approximately $20,000 each year for Arts and Culture programs and events. The purpose of the fund is to “support arts and heritage organizations as well as artists who will provide cultural opportunities for City residents while also attracting regional artists and audiences that can contribute to Burien’s identity as an arts and culture-oriented City.” For applications and guidelines please go to:

The applications are due by 4 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 15.Arts & Culture Funding Arts & Culture funding is on an annual application cycle and is available to individuals, groups and organizations that provide arts and cultural enrichment to the residents of Burien. The City is looking for Arts & Culture programs and events:
  • Applicants may be individuals or non-profit organizations. Evidence of non-profit status for organizations will be required.
  • The proposed program and /or event must be held in Burien or serve a majority of Burien residents.
  • Only one application per individual or organization will be accepted per year.

  1. Burien Fireworks…..Art in the form of blowing stuff up….Culture in drinking beer together at Three Tree Point.

    1. ok but the fireworks must be lit off by a alien a bigfoot and a live unicorn if they want $20,000 or $30,000 for a fireworks show
