REMINDER: Burien’s 93rd Annual Independence Day Parade will start at 3 p.m. on Friday, July 4th (we’re Media Sponsors), and the weather peeps are calling for “mostly cloudy, with a high near 73,” so it should be a perfect day for truly local patriotism!
King County Prosecutor Dan Satterberg will serve as the official Emcee for this year’s parade. Satterberg, a 1978 graduate of Highline High School, has served as King County Prosecutor since 2007. He currently lives in Normandy Park, and occasionally plays in bands the Treehouse Dreamers (played on SoKing Internet Radio) and cover band The Approximations.
The parade, presented by the City of Burien and the Southwest King County Chamber of Commerce, will begin at 3 p.m. at the intersection of Ambaum Blvd. SW and SW 149th Street, then will head south on Ambaum, east on SW 153rd, north on 4th Ave. SW, then west on SW 152nd.
It runs for approximately 90 minutes, putting it at a convenient time before all the barbecuing and fireworks begin.
The parade is sponsored by the Southwest King County Chamber of Commerce, and South King Media is the media sponsor.
