The City of Burien announced that work to create a new section of the lower trail at Eagle Landing Park was recently completed by EarthCorps, restoring public access to the beach. The historically storm-damaged stairs at the base of the trail have been removed and replaced with a new trail and boardwalk, with “an alignment that will no longer suffer from the impacts of high winter tides,” according to the city. This will also allow the public to have better access to the beach. Here’s what the bottom portion of the stairs looked like in Feb. 2013, prior to restoration: The park entrance is at 14641 25th Ave SW.]]>
