Pictured above is Waskowitz Foundation president Kent Horton, along with UW graduate forestry students Sean Jeronimo and Nichole Studevant, who spent last Friday measuring the finalists in the Waskowitz Biggest Tree Contest.
The contest, co-sponsored by the Waskowitz Foundation and the Highline Historical Society, was designed to draw attention to the significant tree canopy that has sprung up throughout the Highline area from fir seedlings brought home and planted by 6th graders who attended Camp Waskowitz in the 1960s through the 1980s.
The winner will be announced at an upcoming Highline School Board meeting.]]>
