Story & Photos by Sterling Paris
To be honest, I did get lost…
Driving up and down SW 153rd for maybe 10 minutes, I even turned around in a parking lot that was right next door! Until I finally found JB Carpets at 113 SW 153rd Street.
(Use directions kids…)
Walking in I met the lovely Margaret Boukalis. I sat right down and Mr. John Boukalis met with me. Very nice couple.
“The store will be closing March 31, so we would love to get rid of everything,” Margaret told me. “The building will also be up for lease.”
Originally Burien Floorcraft, John bought this location from Tony Shoemaker in 1983.
John and his family have lived in Burien since 1990.
But now – after 34 years – it’s time to retire.
Over the years they have had 10 locations, so this is a big business! But now there is only one store, at 113 SW 153rd Street in Burien.
John wants to thank all his customers that have supported him all these years.
With a warehouse full of carpet, laminate, vinyl and area rugs (the area rugs are really pretty) John is selling all merchandise at up to 80% off, some even more:
- 8′ x 12’* regularly priced at $3,999.00 now priced at $599.00
- 6′ x 9’* regularly priced at $1,999.00 now priced at $199.00
- 4′ x 6’* regularly priced at $1,299.00 now priced at $99.00
Hurry in for the best selection. JB Factory carpets will close its doors for good on March 31, 2015.
- Mon – Fri: 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.
- Sat: 9 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Be sure to tell them Sterling sent you!
Until next time…
