We encourage residents of all ages to submit stories and photos for posting – for consideration, please email yours to [email protected]!] Photos and Story by Isabel Herbruger, age 11 On Tuesday, Sept. 15, the Highline Lady Pirates played their first soccer game of the season. They took on the Renton Indians at Highline Memorial Stadium. At halftime, the Pirates were ahead 2-1. They scored again right after halftime to make it 3-1. Renton scored with six minutes left in the game and looked like they had the energy to tie it up. The Pirates however fought hard and scored again. This goal did not count because it was a handball, which is when someone touches the ball with their hand. The Pirates got a penalty kick and scored to make it 4-2 and win the game. #2 Stonebrack scored two goals. #10 Orellana scored one goal. #19 Loy scored one goal. Goalie #1 Hadaller had three saves. After the game I got it all straightened out. All these photos had to be taken from the bleacher, which made it really hard to get a good shot!” The Lady Pirates play the Kennedy Lancers on Thursday, Sept. 17 at 7:30 p.m. and play Bellevue Christian on Saturday, Sept. 19 at 11 a.m. Both games are at Highline Memorial.
