[EDITOR’S NOTE: The following article is another from our youngest-ever Contributor – 11-year old Isabel Herbruger – who has been submitting stories and photos as part of her effort to earn a Girl Scout badge for journalism, as well as qualify for a 4H photography project. We encourage residents of all ages to submit stories and photos for posting – for consideration, please email yours to editor@b-townblog.com!] Photos and Story by Isabel Herbruger, age 11 Last week I tried a bunch of different sports with the Highline Pirates. First was the football game on Sept. 18 against Lindbergh. The Pirates lost but kept their spirits high all game long. I had a lot to figure out at my first football game. They play Evergreen this Friday at 5 p.m. for their Homecoming and will be wearing pink (read more about that here). On Thursday, Sept. 24, I got busy with a swim meet right next to a cross country meet in the afternoon. There was a soccer game later that night. Kennedy beat the Lady Pirates swim team 97-71. The Pirates next meet is 3 p.m. on Oct. 1, 2015 at Hazen High. Just so you know, swimming pictures are hard to take without getting wet. Both the boys and girls Pirate Cross Country teams beat Hazen at the Evergreen High course. Their next meet is against Renton at 4 p.m. on Oct. 1, 2015. The place has not been decided yet but it should be near Burien because Kennedy is the host. Finally, the Lady Pirates soccer team lost to Hazen 0-3. The ladies worked really hard the second half and had many shots that just missed the goal. They play Evergreen at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday (9/29) at Highline Memorial and play Foster at 7:30 p.m.on Thursday, Oct. 1 at Foster. So many sports each week and so little time! Please consider liking the community facebook page for the sport you would like to follow and never miss a shot of your favorite Pirate (or other school if they are playing the Pirates). Football:
