EDITOR’S NOTE, MONDAY 4/18/16: This post was updated with new information from the King County Sheriff’s Office:The King County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that just after 7 p.m. Friday night (April 15), they responded to a motorcycle vs car accident on 1st Ave South near S. 136 Street in Burien (map below). Police say that a motorcyclist was riding a Harley Davidson southbound on 1st Ave South, approaching SW 138th Street, when the driver of an eastbound Honda CRV on SW 138th and stopped for the stop sign. The female driver of the Honda told police that she waited for  traffic to clear on 1st Ave South. She saw the motorcycle approaching, but that he was near the traffic light at S. 136th Street. The driver of the Honda began crossing 1st Ave South, when the front of the motorcycle collided with the vehicle’s driver side, rear passenger door. The driver of the Honda was not injured. “A strong odor of intoxicants was noted from motorcyclist,” Sgt. Cindi West said. The motorcycle driver suffered a broken leg, broken jaw and possible head injuries, and was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. The motorcyclist is a 34-year old man.
