Community members and families are invited to grab their work gloves and help Highline High School students spruce up their school at the ‘Pirate Pride Spring Clean-Up Event’ on Friday, May 20. Students are asking the community to lend a hand. â€œPirate Pride Day is a positive way for community members to recognize HHSâ€™s strengths and challenges and demonstrate their commitment to the education and future of each student at HHS,” said Hansol Kim, HHS student and ASB President. Students identified projects they want to tackle, such as painting, pressure washing, landscaping, and cleaning. â€œOur Pirate Pride Spring Clean-Up event will be a great way to bring our community together to care for this dear old school, Highline Public Schoolsâ€™ flagship building. We know that rebuilding Highline High requires a bond. Even if a bond passes in the next year it will be several years before we get a new building. We hope this event will make our school a more inviting place to learn for now,” said Principal Vicki Fisher. Here are the details:

Volunteers can stop by anytime from Noon to 6:00 p.m. on May 20. Please bring your own gloves and hand tools. You are encouraged to show your Pirate Pride by wearing purple, but be sure to come dressed for painting, landscaping, or cleaning. Call 206-631-7501 to ask about larger equipment needs.
