On Sunday, Nov. 6, Los Angeles-based recording artist Shannon Curtis will perform a benefit concert for The Sidekick Collective, a statewide non-profit that provides seed funding to high schoolers who give back to their communities.
The Sidekick Collective was first created in 2008 by then-Federal Way High student Paige Edmiston.
Shannon Curtis is a recording artist, author, and TEDx speaker. She will be shooting her first-ever live concert film at this performance.
Curtis’s 2016 album Creationism and her current 80-concert North American tour — which culminates with the Renton concert — are based on the idea that, in Curtis’s words, “We create the world we live in — so let’s make something beautiful together.â€
The Sidekick Collective is on a mission to invest in the superheroes of tomorrow who are walking the halls of schools today. By providing seed grants and mentorship, the nonprofit helps extraordinary youth turn their big ideas into real-world solutions — an idea they call “hero capitalism.â€
This is The Sidekick Collective’s fourth year of recognizing high school students for their superhero-ism. You can donate directly at www.sidekickcollective.com
