Police activity Friday night due to stolen car being recovered in Burien

If you heard/saw Burien/King County Sheriff’s Office police activity Friday night, April 12 – including on the ground and in the air – the an area around SW 136th and Ambaum Blvd. SW, it’s likely because deputies were searching for a stolen car.

Sgt. Ryan Abbott of the Sheriff’s Office told The B-Town Blog that KCSO’s Guardian One got a “LoJack hit” on a stolen car, which police eventually found at the Alcove Apartment complex (formerly Alturas) near SW 136th and Ambaum.

The police copter uses Forward Looking Infrared (FLIR) technology to track cars and people, and once they got a lock on the stolen vehicle they guided officers below.
