UPDATE July 8, 2019: The King County Sheriff’s Office Fire Investigation Unit has determined that the fatal North Highline fire on the 4th of July was started by fireworks.

Police said that it’s unknown at this time where the fire started.

This case remains open and the investigation is on-going.

As we previously reported, on July 4, 2019, two houses were completely destroyed by a fire at the 10200 block of 10th Ave S. in unincorporated King County.

Tragically, Roland Kennedy, a 70-year old male, died as a result of the fire, along with a dog.

One dog is still missing.

12 residents were displaced by the fire and are being assisted by the Red Cross.
