“What a rarity. A thunderstorm in Burien. Not often I get a chance to try my photo skills which are weak living in this area. Infrared light travels faster than ordinary light, so I have a device to attach to my camera. When it detects the infrared waves, it triggers the camera in time to take the picture. No way that the human eye can be fast enough to hit the shutter.”

Taking look back at last night between 6 pm and 11 pm in Western Washington estimated number of cloud to ground lightning strikes…2200. That works out to an estimated 440 an hour and 7 to 8 a minute. #wawx
