On Wednesday morning, Sept. 11, a 49-year old man who was arrested for trafficking of stolen property was found dead in a holding cell at the Southwest Precinct in Burien.

Police say that on Wednesday morning, the Sheriff’s Office TAC-30 SWAT team arrested the suspect for trafficking of stolen property.

The Seattle man was placed in a holding cell at the Southwest Precinct in Burien until he could be interviewed by detectives. During a routine cell check, detectives discovered the man was not breathing. Detectives attempted extensive life saving measures, along with King County Medics, but were unable to revive him.

“As is routine with an in-custody death, our Major Crimes detectives are investigating,” Sgt. Ryan Abbott said. “Because the investigation is ongoing, we will be unable to comment further on the matter today.”
