The event is the first of a series of “Get Your Green on” tree planting events in near airport communities.

The other plantings will take place in Burien on Oct. 12 and Des Moines on Oct. 19.

Funded by the Port of Seattle through the Airport Community Ecology Fund, non-profit Forterra has been working with the cities of Burien, Des Moines and SeaTac to establish Green City Partnerships. After nearly two years of community engagement, forest health assessments, and forest stewardship planning, it is time to break ground and begin restoring parks and urban forests.

Please register to join a Green City Day event near you.

All tools, gloves, and snacks will be provided.
