The Rotary Club of Burien & White Center – in partnership with The B-Town Blog – will be holding a Candidate Forum for Burien City Council candidates on Thursday, Oct. 10, 2019 at Merrill Gardens (an Advertiser).

Six candidates are vying for three open positions in the Nov. 5 General Election.

This free, open event will run from 6:30 – 8 p.m.:

  • 6:30 p.m.: Meet & Greet the candidates
  • 7 p.m.: Forum begins
  • 8 p.m.: Forum ends

It will be moderated by David Ruby, a Civics Teacher at Highline High School who moderated our previous forums in 2017.

The structure of this forum will likely be:

  • Opening statements (2-minutes each)
  • Relevant questions asked of all six candidates from the Moderator
  • Timed responses to questions (most likely 2/3-minutes)
  • Closing statements (2-minutes each)

As in all of the Rotary Club’s efforts, organizers will be guided by the Rotary Four Way Test:

“Of the things we think, say or do:

  1. Is it the TRUTH?
  2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?
  3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
  4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?”

It is our intention to also videotape this event for future posting on The B-Town Blog.

Candidates invited include:

City of Burien, Council Position 2:

City of Burien, Council Position 4:

City of Burien, Council Position 6:
