Page 2 Books – an independent retailer of new and used books, cards, gifts, games, puzzles and art – has moved to a new home almost directly across the street from its location for the last six years.

Page 2 is now located at 560 SW 152nd Street (map below), on the ground floor of the Burien Town Square condominium building.

Its operating hours, telephone number, email address (books@page2books.com) and website remain the same.

“We think customers will like the features and amenities that our new location brings,” said Jenny Cole, co-owner and general manager of Page 2. “We’ll have an expanded area for children’s books, educational toys and games, arts and crafts and science kits. We’ll have better display areas for the artists whose works we feature. We’ll have improved space to host book-club meetings, author events and other activities.”

“Longtime and new customers will like the things we’ve kept the same — a large selection of books in popular genres such as mystery, romance, science fiction and westerns, as well as non-fiction categories including cooking, gardening, travel, local interest, history and biography,” she added.

To celebrate the opening of its new store, Page 2 will be hosting an Open House on Saturday Nov. 2, featur- ing prizes, giveaways, and other activities.

Page 2 is a full-service bookstore, offering new and used books, online shopping and book ordering. It also sells downloadable audio and ebooks through its website (page2books.com). Page 2 offers discount programs for frequent shoppers, educators and book-club members, and services such as gift registries and wrapping. In the last six years it has hosted hundreds of authors in its store for readings and book signings, and has helped organize events at local schools and libraries. In addition to serving Burien and its neighbor- hoods, Page 2 is also the independent new-and-used bookstore for communities throughout South King County.

The store already hosts its own monthly book-discussion club, held on the third Saturday of the month, and plans to add two more this fall, one on young-adult books, the other on Jane Austen’s “Pride and Prejudice” and the works it has inspired. Lists of book selections and details on meeting dates and times are available on Page 2’s website, Facebook page and in its monthly email newsletter.
