REMINDER: The Rotary Club of Burien & White Center – in partnership with The B-Town Blog – will be holding a Candidate Forum for Burien City Council candidates this THURSDAY, Oct. 10, 2019 at Merrill Gardens (an Advertiser).

Six candidates are vying for three open positions in the Nov. 5 General Election.

This free, open event will run from 6:30 – 8 p.m.:

  • 6:30 p.m.: Meet & Greet the candidates
  • 7 p.m.: Forum begins
  • 8 p.m.: Forum ends

It will be moderated by David Ruby, a Civics Teacher at Highline High School, who moderated our previous forums in 2017.

The structure of this forum will likely be:

  • Opening statements (2-minutes each)
  • Relevant questions asked of all six candidates by the Moderator (including questions submitted by Readers to electionquestions2019@gmail.com)
  • Timed responses to questions (most likely 2/3-minutes)
  • Closing statements (2-minutes each)

It is also our intention to videotape this event for future posting on The B-Town Blog.
