The Burien Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2019 to obtain public comment on the proposed zoning code text amendments regarding Enhanced Services Facilities (ESF).
The meeting will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2019, starting at 7 p.m. at Burien City Hall, located at 400 SW 152nd Street (map below).
“No Enhanced Services Facility (ESF) is proposed to be located in the city at this time,” the city said. “The new zoning code regulations will apply to future applications for Enhanced Services Facilities.”
The city says:
The zoning code will be amended to include a definition of Enhanced Services Facilities, establish locational criteria to sensitively site facilities consistent with Comprehensive Plan, and address concerns raised by the community,
No Enhanced Services Facility (ESF) is proposed to be located in the city at this time. The new zoning code regulations will apply to future applications for Enhanced Services Facilities.
How does Burien ensure ESFs are sited and developed in a manner sensitive to existing populations? In addition, how does the City establish land use regulations that allow those services to be provided to those who require the specified level of mental and/or physical care?
The Planning Commission may make a recommendation to the City Council following the public hearing. Should the Planning Commission choose to make a recommendation the following motion is being provided.
I move to approve the proposed zoning code amendment regarding Enhanced Services Facilities as set forth in Attachment 1 including the following options.
Allowable zones: (options – CC-2, CR, SPA-3)
Separation Distance: (options – 330 feet, 660 feet)
Notice Distance: (options – 500 feet, 660 feet)
