The holidays are over. Now what’s the easiest way to get rid of your Christmas tree in the Burien / South Seattle area?

Christmas Tree Pickup (small fee, no work required)

Curbside Collection (free, ~30 mins of work)

    • If you have curbside collection at your house/apartment, just put the tree outside with other yard waste and compost.
    • TRIM tree to 6 feet or less, branches to 4 feet or less
    • BUNDLE the branches with a compostable twine
    • REMOVE ornaments, decorations, lights, etc.

Boy Scout Troop 392 Drop Off (donation requested, ~1 hour of work)

    • Saturday, Dec. 28, 2019 and Saturday, Jan. 4, 2020 ONLY
    • 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. at John Knox Presbyterian Church, located at 109 SW Normandy Road in Normandy Park
    • Make checks out to Troop 392
    • Flocked trees are not taken

Boy Scout Troop 375 Drop Off (donation requested, ~1 hour of work)

    • Saturday and Sunday, Jan. 4-5, 2020
    • 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. at Burien Eagles, located at 920 SW 149th Street (behind Countryside Cafe).
    • Suggested Donation of at least $5

South Transfer Station (free, ~1 hour of work)

    • Drive your tree to the South Transfer Station
    • Free from 12/26/19 to 1/31/19
    • $20/tree after that
    • MUST be under 8 feet tall, 4 feet or less for branches
    • Flocked trees are not taken
