On Thursday, Feb. 13, 2020, the good folks at Discover Burien presented checks to the Highline Area and White Center Food Banks, along with the Burien Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services.
The Empty Bowls fundraiser – which was held at the Burien Community Center on Jan. 31, 2020 – brought in $25,000, which was split evenly at $12,500 per food bank.
The check presentation was held at Sidestreet Kitchen, winner of this year’s “Best Soup” contest with its Mexican Street Corn Soup.
