On Friday, March 6, 2020, Burien’s Environmental Science Center announced that it has cancelled Saturay’s ‘Soiree’ fundraiser due to the coronavirus COVID-19 outbreak.

ESC’s goal was to raise $65,000 at the event, to continue delivering much needed outdoor educational programs to little ones, youth, and family in our community – nearly 20% of their annual budget.

“Months of planning have gone into this event for our 20th year anniversary and it looked to be our most successful fundraiser to date,” Executive Director Tara Luckie said. “Although we can’t come together in person, all is not lost. We know you are willing to rally with us to help us meet our goal.”

WAYS TO HELP:

1.  Participate in ESC’s virtual event tomorrow, Saturday March 7, at 6 p.m.  The event will include inspirational videos of ESC’s work in the community, a real-time raffle, a virtual paddle raise, a wine wall and more! You can participate in the virtual event by going to EnvironmentalScienceCenter.org tomorrow at 6 pm.

2.  If you can’t participate in our virtual event, you can donate online now.

3.  We also welcome checks made out to the Environmental Science Center at 126 SW 148th Street Suite C100-90 Burien, WA 98166.

*Donations of $250 or $500 made this weekend will be matched by a pool of generous donors.

“Thank you for your support during this challenging time!”
