April is Jazz Appreciation Month, intended to recognize and celebrate the heritage and History of Jazz, and our friends at the Highline Heritage Museum are collaborating with the Brazil Center, promoting and cultivating Jazz around us:

Duda Almeida is specialized in “cavaquinho,” a traditional Brazilian string instrument.

He developed an instrumental work rooted in African Brazilian rhythms based on his learning experience with classical, popular and street musicians in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil.

His featured video will show one of his arrangements performed at The Royal Room in Seattle.

For the 2020 series, every Friday of this month at 1 p.m. – starting this Friday, April 10, 2020 – they will be heavily featuring one jazz artist on their Facebook page:
