Courtesy local Photographer Elston Hill comes these amazing photos of lightning, as shot from his Burien home during Saturday morning’s (May 30, 2020) impressive thunderstorm.

“Lightning occurs so seldom here that it is such a treat when it happens,” Elston said. “To photograph lightning, I use an infrared detector that triggers the camera shutter. Infrared light travels faster than light so that it opens the shutter in time to make these photos.”
