Anko, located in the Five Corners Shopping Center at 15840 1st Ave S. (map below), permanently closed it doors this weekend.

It appears this is another business that suffered from repercussions related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Australian-based department store carried a wide range of lifestyle products for home and family, with “simple design that elevates the day to day.”

The Burien store first opened in Sept., 2019, and the first Anko store in the US opened in Oct., 2018 in Seattle.

Here’s a note that Anko General Manager Ryan Greenough posted on Facebook:

To our valued customers,

Regretfully we will be permanently closing our Anko stores including anko.com, effective immediately.

We would like to thank all of you for your support since we began our PNW journey in 2018 and for welcoming Anko and our team members into your communities.

We have been inspired by how you styled our products and enjoyed hosting you at our workshops and events, helping to support local charities, school districts and businesses along the way.

We will continue to fulfill all online orders that have been placed prior to 11:59pm on Sunday, June 7 and make them available at your chosen pick up location.

Due to recent demand, please allow 3-5 days for your order to be made available. You will receive an email confirmation from us once your order is ready for pick up.

For order related enquiries, please contact us at [email protected]

Finally, I would like to say a special thanks to our team members and local partners for all of their contributions to our Anko business over the past 2 years.
