If you were driving down SW 153rd Street in Burien on Saturday, Oct. 3, and wondered what all those people kneeling in the street was about, it was a group of community volunteers painting beautiful stenciled art of Khmer, Zapotec, Ethiopian, and Americana designs on the street.

This beautification project is a collaboration between Discover Burien, City of Burien Government, and the Port of Seattle.

“The goals of this project is to make this part of Downtown more inviting, colorful, and encourage people to support these businesses,” Burien Parks said. “The work is still in progress and stay tuned for more updates coming soon. Thank you to all the community members that came out to generously share their time and talents! 💗”
