Burien Police / King County Sheriff’s Office is reporting that officers arrested suspects for a string of recent burglaries at a Burien storage facility:

Police say that on Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2020 at 7:20 a.m., Burien officers responded to a storage company in 18000 block of Des Moines Memorial Dr S. (map below) for a burglary.

The caller stated that suspects were on the property stealing items from storage units.

Burien PD arrived quickly and met with the manager, who stated the same suspects were responsible for several prior break-ins.

The manager said a silver Ford Expedition was currently inside the secured fence area. Another deputy located an occupied 2001 Lexus, which was seen on surveillance video following the Expedition through the gate.

After searching the complex, deputies found the locks on two storage units had been cut and removed. Deputies spoke with the occupants of the Lexus. After their stories kept changing, deputies were given consent to search the vehicle. Inside the trunk, a substantial amount of ID’s, passports and credit cards in the names of other people were found. Several items inside the Lexus were confirmed as items stolen from the storage units.

The suspects admitted to breaking in to the storage units and stealing items. The two suspects from the Lexus were booked into the King County Jail on investigation of Burglary. Two other suspects associated with the Expedition were released from the scene but charges are recommended and being sent to the Prosecutors Office.
