SUMMARY:VOTE – you have until 8 p.m. on Aug. 6 to vote in the 2024 Primary Election
DESCRIPTION:Burien area voters are gearing up for a crucial primary election on Aug. 6\, 2024\, that will shape the November ballot for key state and federal positions. \nThe primary will determine the top two candidates for governor\, as three-term Democratic incumbent Jay Inslee steps down. Leading contenders include Attorney General Bob Ferguson\, former Republican U.S. Representative Dave Reichert\, State Senator Mark Mullet\, and Republican Semi Bird. \nVoters will also narrow the field for other statewide offices\, including attorney general\, where former U.S. Attorney Nick Brown faces State Senator Manka Dhingra and Pasco City Council member Pete Serrano. \nAll 10 of Washington’s U.S. House seats are up for election\, along with one U.S. Senate seat. The primary also covers 123 state legislature races\, 92 local races\, and 94 local measures across the state. \nAlso\, local icon Goodspaceguy is running again\, for the 25th time. He is vying to unseat Sen. Maria Cantwell for the U.S. Senate. \nBallots were mailed to registered voters this week\, and you have until Aug. 6\, 2024 to return yours\, either by mail (postmarked by Election Day) or by depositing them in an official drop box by 8 p.m. \nWashington’s top-two primary system allows the two candidates with the most votes to advance to the general election\, regardless of party affiliation. \nOfficials encourage voters to check their registration status and ballot information at VoteWA.gov. Those who miss the July 29 deadline for online registration can still register in person at county voting centers through Election Day. \nWith the state facing significant challenges and opportunities\, from economic recovery to environmental issues\, officials stress the importance of voter participation in shaping Washington’s future. \n\nBurien Ballot Box Locations\n\nThere are two ballot boxes (both will close at 8 p.m. on Aug. 6) in Burien: \n\nBurien Town Square Park\n480 SW 152nd Street (corner of 5th Ave SW & SW 152nd Street)\nBurien\, WA 98166\nBoulevard Park Library\n12015 Roseberg Avenue South\nSeattle\, WA 98168\n\n\nCandidates and Measures on the Primary Election Ballot\n[NOTE: Links are to each candidate’s page on the King County Elections website.] \nU.S. Senator \n\nMel Ram (Prefers Republican Party)\nDr Raul Garcia (Prefers GOP Party)\nDavid Tilton (Prefers Non-Partisan Party)\nMaria Cantwell (Prefers Democratic Party)\nChuck Jackson (Prefers Independent Party)\nIsaac A Holyk (Prefers Republican Party)\nHenry Clay Dennison (Prefers Socialist Workers Party)\nScott Nazarino (Prefers Republican Party)\nPaul Lawrence Giesick (Prefers Democratic Party)\nThor Amundson (Prefers Independent Party)\nGoodspaceguy (Prefers Republican Party)\n\nCongressional District 7\, U.S. Representative \n\nDan Alexander (Prefers Republican Party)\nPramila Jayapal (Prefers Democratic Party)\nLiz Hallock (Prefers Democratic Party)\nCliff Moon (Prefers Republican Party)\n\nWashington State\, Governor \n\nJim Daniel (Prefers Republican Party)\nCassondra Magdalene Hanson (Prefers Democratic Party)\nJeff Curry (Prefers Independent Party)\nAlex Tsimerman (Prefers Standup-America Party)\nMark Mullet (Prefers Democratic Party)\nMartin Lee Wheeler (Prefers Republican Party)\nJennifer Hoover (Prefers Republican Party)\nAndre Stackhouse (Prefers Green Party)\nEL’ona Kearney (Prefers Democratic Party)\nRicky Anthony (Prefers Democratic Party)\nBob Ferguson (Prefers Democratic Party)\nChaytan Inman (Prefers Democratic Party)\nMichael DePaula (Prefers Libertarian Party)\nDave Reichert (Prefers Republican Party)\nDon L Rivers (Prefers Democratic Party)\nJim Clark (States No Party Preference)\nFred Grant (Prefers Democratic Party)\nLeon A Lawson (Prefers Trump Republican Party)\nEdward Cale IV (Prefers Democratic Party)\nFrank Dare (Prefers Independent Party)\nWilliam Combs (Prefers Independent Party)\nAlan Makayev (Prefers Nonsense Busters Party)\nBrian Bogen (Prefers Nonpartisan Party)\nA.L.
