The Seattle/King County Coalition on Homelessness conducted the 2016 one-night count and discovered that 4\,505 people were homeless in King County\, which was an increase of 19% over those found without shelter the prior year. \n\n\n\nWhile there are many reasons for homelessness\, one encouraging note is that the condition of homelessness is usually temporary.
