DESCRIPTION:The deadline for Public Comment on the environmental review of Sea-Tac Airport’s Sustainable Airport Master Plan (SAMP) Near-Term Projects will be Friday\, Dec. 13\, 2024. \nThe public has until that date to submit feedback on the proposed projects and their potential environmental impacts. \nThe SAMP aims to guide growth at Sea-Tac Airport with a focus on sustainability\, including plans to accommodate increased passenger demand\, improve airport facilities\, and support regional economic development while addressing environmental concerns. \nThose interested in providing input can review the project details and submit comments through the Port of Seattle’s website. Feedback from the public will play an important role in shaping the future of the airport and ensuring that community concerns are taken into consideration. \nComments may also be submitted electronically to SAMP@portseattle.org or on the project website.\nComments must be received by Dec. 13\, 2024.\nAll comments received will be responded to in the final Environmental Assessment (EA).

DESCRIPTION:Discover the wonders of marine life illuminated by flashlight during three upcoming Moonlight Beach Walks at Seahurst Park.  \nHosted by the Environmental Science Center (ESC)\, these guided walks offer a unique opportunity to explore the beach at night during low tide. \nEvent Dates and Times:\n\nFriday\, Dec. 13: 8 – 10 p.m.\nSaturday\, Dec. 14: 8:30 – 10:30 p.m.\nSaturday\, Jan. 11: 7:30 – 9:30 p.m.\n\nESC naturalists will provide tips on marine stewardship\, offer wildlife identification sheets\, and share insights into the coastal ecosystem. \nParticipants are encouraged to bring a flashlight\, waterproof footwear\, and warm clothing. \nAfter the walk\, attendees can enjoy warm drinks near the park entrance\, where restrooms will be open. \nThis family-friendly event is free but requires registration at https://bit.ly/3qSif0I.
