SUMMARY:Auditions for TeenSounds at John Knox Presbyterian Church
DESCRIPTION:Northwest Associated Arts (NWAA) this week announced the second year of its youth programming this fall. \nUnder the direction of Artistic Director Dr. Tyler Kimmel\, TeenSounds is a vibrant\, encouraging\, diverse ensemble whose focus is to serve and uplift our South King County community through singing! \n“Our choir is excited to perform music from many traditions\, including classical\, pop\, Broadway\, and folk music from many cultures and in different languages\,” organizers said. “We are thrilled to offer an ensemble that features 11-19 year-old singers with a variety of talent. No experience needed to join.” \nTeenSounds will meet on Tuesday evenings from 6–7:30 p.m. at John Knox Presbyterian Church in Normandy Park. \nIt is expected that students who are admitted to the ensemble attend each rehearsal\, and especially the rehearsals and dress rehearsals the week of the concert. \nChristmas and Spring concerts will be at the Highline Performing Arts Center in Burien. \n\n\n\nAuditions:\n\n\n\n\nTuesday\, Sept. 9\, 6–6:30 p.m.: John Knox Presbyterian Church (map below).\n\n\n\n\nTo register to participate\, fill out this online form and organizers will contact you. \nFinancial aid is available to any families that request assistance.

SUMMARY:BAT’s Movie Musical Karaoke now all-ages with expanded hours starting Sept. 9
DESCRIPTION:BAT Theatre’s Movie Musical Karaoke has now broadened to include all ages\, as long as minors are accompanied by someone 21 or older\, starting with the Tuesday\, Sept. 9 karaoke. \nThe event is also expanding by an extra hour with an earlier start time. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.\, and it’s karaoke from 6-9 p.m. at The Tin Room Theater (map below). \nSing along to your favorite film musical soundtracks playing on the big screen with subtitles\, or watch the action. Selection of movie musicals provided\, or bring your favorite movie musical DVDs. There will be solos\, duets\, and group singalongs. Costumes and choreography are encouraged but not required. \nAnd if it’s hot outside\, sing along in The Tin Room Theater’s AC comfort. Stop in for dinner and/or drinks before or after the show.
