SUMMARY:City of Burien hosting Open House on Critical Area Ordinance update
DESCRIPTION:The City of Burien is inviting residents to learn more about proposed changes to its Critical Area Ordinance during an Open House on Wednesday\, Sept. 24\, 2025. \nThe session will take place from 3:30 to 5 p.m. in the Burien City Council Chambers at the Burien Library Multipurpose Room. \nAttendees are invited to stay after for a public hearing to be held at the Planning Commission meeting starting at 5:30 p.m. \nAccording to the city\, the event will provide an overview of the ordinance and proposed updates to Burien’s regulations for critical areas such as wetlands\, streams\, wildlife habitats\, and other sensitive natural features. \nThe changes are intended to align with state law and incorporate best available science while balancing the city’s growth and development needs. \n“This open house is an opportunity for residents\, property owners\, and others interested in understanding how these changes may affect future projects and land uses in Burien\,” the city said. \nResidents\, property owners\, and others are encouraged to attend to learn how the changes may affect property\, land use\, and future projects in Burien. \nCity staff and consultants involved in the update will be on hand to answer questions\, explain the regulations\, and gather feedback. \nClick here for more info.
