SUMMARY:BAT Theater to bring pirate tale ‘Bold Grace’ to ArtLab Burien main stage on Saturday\, Aug. 29
DESCRIPTION:Avast\, me hearties! Pull up a barrel of rum and hear the tale of Grace O’Malley at the first-ever ArtLab Burien this coming Saturday\, Aug. 29! \nBAT Theatre will bring the 30-minute version of “Bold Grace\, the Voyages of the Pirate O’Malley” by Ashley Schalow to ArtLab Burien on Saturday\, Aug. 29 at 2 pm. \nFrom 11 to 6 p .m. on Saturday\, BAT will also have a booth at ArtLab\, offering free introductory training in acting skills. \nAt 2 p.m. on the mainstage located on SW 153rd Street between Ambaum Blvd. SW and 6th Ave SW (map below)\, BAT will present a staged reading of the amazing “Bold Grace\, the Voyages of the Pirate O’Malley” (DETAILS HERE). \nIn this simply jaw-dropping one-woman staged reading\, actor Natasha Halfin brings16th-century Irish pirate Grace O’Malley to life. \nThe real Grace lived a very full life\, including pirating up and down the Irish coast\, leading an army of 200 loyal fighting men and her own fleet of ships\, two marriages\, four children (one born while Grace was at sea)\, and even a documented face-to-face meeting with Queen Elizabeth I. Beginning with her first voyage with her father at age nine\, Grace relives key moments in her life until her death in 1603. Under the direction of Maggie Larrick\, Natasha Halfin is so spellbinding as Grace that you will swear you can feel the salt air on your face. \n“We know you will enjoy this production of Bold Grace\,” organizers said. “BAT gives special thanks to Ashley Schalow for allowing BAT to produce it; to Natasha Halfin and Maggie Larrick for bringing this wonderful script to life; and to the Burien Creative District for the ArtLab Burien and for allowing BAT stage time to present Bold Grace\, the Voyages of the Pirate O’Malley.“
