DESCRIPTION:AARP Foundation Tax-Aide provides in-person tax assistance to anyone\, free of charge\, with a focus on taxpayers who are over 50 and have low to moderate income.  \n\n\n\nStarting on Friday\, Feb. 3\, and continuing through Sunday\, April 16\, 2023\, AARP Tax-Aide will be providing services at the Burien Library (400 SW 152nd Street). \n\n\n\nTax-Aide hours will be 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Fridays and 11 a.m. – 5 p.m. on Sundays.  \n\n\n\nAppointments are required and may be made online at Tax Aide Registration (aarp.org) or by leaving a voice mail message at (206) 657-6018.  A volunteer will return your call and schedule your appointment. \n\n\n\nOnce the site is open in February\, taxpayers may also stop by during open hours and a volunteer there will help them make an appointment.   \n

DESCRIPTION:From our friends at WABI Burien: \nAll are invited to join the WABI Weekday Walkers walk the Cedar River trail this coming Wednesday\, Mar. 15\, 2023\, starting at 10 a.m. (NOTE LATER START TIME).  \n\n\n\nWe’ll start from the Cedar River trail parking lot that is adjacent to the Renton Rowing Center\, in Renton. The parking lot stretches along the trail and the river. We’ll plan to meet at the northern end of the lot\, closest to Lake Washington. \n\n\n\nThe walk will take us south on the Cedar River trail for 1.5 miles. Along the way we’ll pass the Renton airport and the Renton Memorial Stadium. When we reach the Renton library\, we’ll retrace our steps back to the starting point. \n\n\n\nThis flat\, 3-mile round trip journey on paved pathway will take about one hour. \n\n\n\nDate: Wednesday\, March 15\, 2023 (Rain or shine.) \nTime: Meet a little before 10 a.m so we can begin walking at 10:00. \nPlace: Cedar River trail parking lot adjacent to Renton Rowing Center at 1060 Nishiwaki Ln\, Renton. \nWho: Walkers of every level and ability (dogs are welcome\, too.) \nDistance: About 3 miles\, round trip. DESCRIPTION:The next Highline Forum will be held Wednesday\, Mar. 22\, 2023\, from 2:30 – 4:30 p.m at the Port of Seattle Airport Office Building in SeaTac (map below).\n\nThe Highline Forum provides Southwest King County municipalities\, educational governing bodies\, and the Port of Seattle with the opportunity to share information\, interact with outside speakers and other governmental organizations\, and work in partnership on initiatives that benefit the residents of Southwest King County.\n\nOne elected representative and one senior administrator from the following jurisdictions or institutions make up the membership of the Highline Forum:\n\n\n\n 	City of Burien – Deputy Mayor Kevin Schilling and City Manager Adolfo Bailon\n \n 	City of Des Moines – Mayor Matt Mahoney and City Manager Michael Matthias\n \n 	City of Federal Way – Mayor Jim Farrell and Councilmember Lydia Assefa-Dawson\n \n 	City of Normandy Park – Eric Zimmerman and City Manager Amy Arrington\n \n 	City of SeaTac – Deputy Mayor Senayet Negusse and City Manager Carl Cole\n \n 	City of Tukwila – Councilmember Kathy Hougardy and Policy Analyst Laurel Humphrey\n \n 	Highline College – VP for Institutional Advancement Josh Gerstman and External Relations Shakira Ericksen\n \n 	Port of Seattle – Commissioner Fred Felleman and Aviation Managing Director Lance Lyttle\n\nAn elected representative from the Port of Seattle (Commissioner Fred Felleman) and a jurisdiction or institution co-chair (Des Moines Mayor Matt Mahoney) moderate the meetings.\n\nSign up to receive Highline Forum updates by email\, including meeting agendas and summaries.\n\nThe Forum meets six times a year\, typically on the fourth Wednesday of January\, March\, May\, July\, September\, and November from 2:30 – 4:30 p.m.\n\nMeetings are hybrid: we meet in person or you may attend virtually on MS Teams. He will provide you with the link to the meeting as the date draws closer.\n\n\nMEETING LOCATION\n \n\nThe meeting will be held at the Port of Seattle Conference Center\, located inside the Seattle-Tacoma International Airport\, pre-security and on the mezzanine level at the south end of the airport above Checkpoint #1. Boarding passes are not required to access the facility.\n\nThe Port offers complimentary parking validations for Conference Center guests who utilize the airport parking garage\, on the day of their event. Please park in General Parking (floors 2\,3\,5-8) in the airport garage. Parking validations are only valid in General Parking\, and your parking will not be validated if you park on Terminal Direct (floor 4)\, as the pricing is different.\n\nPark in General Parking (floors 3\, 5-8) at the South end of the Airport Garage near the yellow or green elevators (rows N-U). Walk across skybridge #1\, between the yellow and green elevator banks\, to the Main Terminal. Take the escalator or elevator up to the Ticketing Level. The stairs and elevator to the Mezzanine Level are directly behind the International ticketing counters. Enter the reception area through the double glass doors on the left. *Parking validations are valid in General Parking for the duration of the event or meeting. Your parking may not be validated if you choose to park in Terminal Direct (floor 4).*
