Help save lives by donating blood at Burien City Hall

August 7 @ 9:30 am - 3:30 pm

Bloodworks Northwest is calling on area residents to step up and donate during a community blood drive on Thursday, Aug. 7, 2025, at Burien City Hall, as the region grapples with a severe summer blood shortage.

The blood drive will take place from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. inside council chambers at City Hall, located at 400 SW 152nd Street in Burien (map below).

Appointments are required and can be scheduled through Bloodworks Northwest’s online booking system here.

Blood donors of all types are urgently needed, especially those with Type O blood, which is critical for trauma care and emergency situations.

“Summer is a season of more adventures and more accidents,” said Bloodworks Northwest in a statement. “Right now, blood supplies are running low. Donors of all types are urgently needed, especially Type O blood for trauma patients who can’t wait.”

Donors must be at least 16 years old (with parental consent if under 18), weigh at least 110 pounds, and be in good health.

All donations will help maintain the emergency supply at hospitals throughout the Puget Sound region.

To schedule an appointment, visit bloodworksnw.orgl or call 800-398-7888.
