Para Los Niños de Highline to celebrate building purchase with Open House

Para Los Niños de Highline (PLN) will host a community Open House from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 14, 2025 to celebrate the purchase of its building at 15220 6th Ave. SW (map below).
The milestone event will feature a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 5:30 p.m. with special guests including Sen. Emily Alvarado, former Rep. Tina Orwall, and Rodolfo Hernández McIntyre.
Guests can enjoy local artwork, a silent auction, and opportunities to connect with the community that helped make the purchase possible.
“For many of us, the idea of ‘home’ holds deep meaning,” said Executive Director Virginia Herrera-Páramo. “As immigrants, the journey to find a place where we truly belong can be full of challenges. At PLN, we’ve worked hard to create a space where families can feel safe, supported, and valued. Thanks to the generous support of our community, we’ve taken an exciting step forward by purchasing our office building. This space is more than just an office-it’s a second home to so many.”
The organization is seeking to raise $1 million to complete critical repairs and updates to ensure the building is secure, welcoming, and ready to serve future generations of families.
“This event is a celebration of how far we’ve come, and a reminder that we are stronger together,” Herrera-Páramo added. “Whether you’re a long-time supporter, a family member, a local artist, or a volunteer, you’ve played a role in making this dream a reality.”
The open house will also showcase PLN’s private art collection, featuring work from local artists who are integral to the community, and a silent auction will help raise additional funds for renovations.
