Krull family’s annual ‘Dinner or Pardon’ Food Drive runs through Thanksgiving

November 7, 2025 - November 27, 2025

The Krull family’s annual “Dinner or Pardon” Food Drive has begun, so grab some non-perishable food and go vote on whether to “eat” or “pardon” real live turkeys on display outside their home in Normandy Park (map below).

Through Thanksgiving, residents can visit the Krull family home (map below) to cast their vote in the annual turkey challenge, while also dropping off food donations in barrels for the Transform Burien Food Bank.

Organizers Candace and Tay Krull said the playful voting contest lets participants decide whether the family’s turkeys should be “pardoned” or “dinner,” with all collected food going to support families facing food insecurity across South King County.

Transform Burien serves residents from Burien and surrounding cities, and sadly is experiencing high demand as federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) funding continues to fall short for many families.

The Krulls hope this year’s effort will spark even more participation, calling for the community to help make this 2025 turkey food drive “huge.”
