7 Stories will be Friday night, Mar. 22 at Highline Heritage Museum

March 22 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm

The next 7 Stories event – set for Friday night, Mar. 22, 2024 at the Highline Heritage Museum – will be based on the theme(s) ‘Paths Not Taken’/’Diary Entries.’

Doors will open at 6:35 p.m., so come in early, take a seat, visit your neighbor, and enjoy the stories!

This event is FREE (donations gratefully accepted).

This night’s theme will focus on when you purposely didn’t take the usual path – the fighting, angry path (what happened then?). Or maybe it’s more like a diary entry story that has significance to you.

There are SO many possibilities here and every story is so unique. Come and listen.

NOTE: If you can’t make it to this event in person, be sure to “Like” us on Facebook here to get a notification, as The B-Town Blog will be streaming it live starting at 7 p.m.

Below is an edited video produced by Scott Schaefer showing the 7 Stories event held on Feb. 23, 2024, with the theme “The Perfect Storm/Hot Mess,” featuring stories from Robert McPhail, Eric Mathison, Sven (Chven Ar Vitsit), Becky Chan, Michael Lockhart, Kate McPhail and Deborah Appel:

Storytellers Needed

Please consider sharing your true story…in the spirit of community and friendship.

Organizers will coach/help you as much as you would like.

7 Stories is a storytelling night, so craft your true experience into your own story. It’s not a literary event. You’re sharing your true story with us. And…we’ll love it!

As Paul from Fresh Ground Stories (a mentor storytelling group) advises:

“Remember to practice your story out loud on as many people as possible and time yourself when you’re doing it. Please don’t get onstage if you haven’t practiced your story. The audience is giving you their time and attention. It’s not fair to them if you get up there and try to wing it.”

    • Stories can be as short as you want, but not over 7 minutes.
    • Stories also have to be clean in both language and content.
    • Colorful language is fine; you know the difference.

“No matter what, mine your rich field of memories and experiences, we want to hear your stories,” organizer Sybil Davis advised.
