Burien Indivisible plans Halloween rally focused on voting, ICE concerns

Burien Indivisible will hold a rally from Noon to 2 p.m. this Saturday, Oct. 31, at the corner of 1st Ave South and SW 148th Street (map below), encouraging people to vote and calling attention to what organizers describe as an ICE presence in the community.
Organizers invite participants to bring signs, wear costumes and enjoy music during the Halloween gathering.
“Wear a costume, enjoy music, join our community,” the group said in its announcement.
The rally’s stated focus includes voter turnout and concerns about U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement. The announcement did not provide details about specific immigration enforcement activity.
“There is nothing spookier than a fascist regime running the country and disappearing our hard-working neighbors,” organizers said. “Join us in showing solidarity towards our community that has been enduring the worst over the past couple of months.”
Participants are asked to park in the main Safeway and Mud Bay parking lot rather than the AutoZone lot.
Registration is available through Burien Indivisible’s event signup page.
