‘FREE Tree Point’ Giveaway event will be weekend of June 29-30

Burien’s Three Tree Point neighborhood will become ‘Free Tree Point,’ starting at 9 a.m. on Saturday, June 29, and continuing through Sunday, June 30, 2024.

It’s the same as a last year – residents put out unwanted, usable items by the street for the taking, and people can take what they need, all FREE.

There is no haul away for items not picked up, so residents must take back that which doesn’t go away at 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 30.

The Plan:

• On Saturday, June 29, and Sunday, June 30, 2024, from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m., residents of Three Tree Point who live on SW 172nd Street, SW 171st Street, Three Tree Point Lane and Maplewild Ave SW are encouraged to set out things they don’t need anymore outside their homes/driveways.
• Organizers strongly suggest adding a large “FREE STUFF” sign to indicate that stuff is free and up for grabs.
• Once stuff is out and labeled, it’s up for grabs in a kind of free neighborhood giveaway event – just drive/stroll through the area and take what you like!
• There will be no “holds” allowed on items – everything is up to you to haul and you cannot knock on doors or bother homeowners. It’s first come, first served!
• There is no main organizer to this event, and we strongly encourage participants to treat it as another experiment to see if it works (last year’s was the first).
• Remember – put out some good stuff you don’t need, not junk or garbage, and let’s turn this neighborhood into FREE Tree Point!
