Highline Community Symphonic Band’s FREE space-themed concert will be Sunday, May 17 in Burien

The Highline Community Symphonic Band will present a free concert titled “The Space Time Continuum” on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at 2 p.m. at the Highline High School Theatre in Burien.

Directed by Corinne Smith, the program is described as “a concert journey across the boundaries of time and the reaches of space,” according to the band.

The performance will feature a range of works inspired by space, film and imagination, including “In Two Places” by Haley Woodrow, “Journey through Orion” by Julie Giroux and “Tirana” by Carol Barnett.

Additional selections include “Fantasy Adventure at the Movies,” arranged by Michael Brown, followed by an intermission.

The second half of the program will include “Legends of the Galaxy” by Chandler Wilson, “Jupiter” from “The Planets” by Gustav Holst, arranged by Curnow, “Rozana” by Reena Esmail and the main theme from “Star Wars” by John Williams, arranged by Hunsberger.

The concert will be held in the high school theatre (map below), not the Performing Arts Center, and admission is FREE.
