Highline Forum to meet at Burien City Hall on Wednesday, May 28 to discuss airport, economic impacts

May 28 @ 2:30 pm - 4:30 pm

Regional leaders will gather Wednesday, May 28, 2025, for the next Highline Forum, a bi-monthly meeting bringing together cities, school districts, and the Port of Seattle to discuss issues related to Seattle-Tacoma International Airport and the surrounding communities.

The 2:30–4:30 p.m. meeting will be held in a hybrid format, both in-person at Burien City Hall and online via Microsoft Teams.

Download the full agenda packet here.

Hosted by the City of Burien, the agenda includes a presentation by Burien Mayor Kevin Schilling, along with updates on airport operations, legislative priorities, and local economic development initiatives.

Key items include a review of the 2024 Stakeholder Advisory Round Table (StART) Annual Report, presented by facilitator Andres Mantilla, Port Community Engagement Manager Marco Milanese, and Senior Federal Government Relations Manager Eric Schinfeld.

In addition, State Government Relations Manager John Flanagan will brief the group on StART’s 2025 state legislative priorities.

Also on the agenda is a presentation on the Port’s Economic Development Partnership Grant Program by Port Economic Development Manager Annie Tran, and a round-the-table sharing session by forum members.

Public comment will be accepted in three ways: in person, via Microsoft Teams, or by submitting written comments in advance by email. To attend or comment, participants must RSVP to Dave Kaplan at Kaplan.D@PortSeattle.org with the subject line “Highline Forum RSVP.”

“Community engagement continues to be essential in shaping policy around the airport and regional development,” said organizers. Space for in-person attendees is limited and available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The forum is open to the public, and more information can be found here.
