Discover Burien this week announced Yazmine Chable-Felix as the winner of its 2017 “Making Burien Awesome” Scholarship program. The scholarship fund was designed to help students in our community achieve their education and career goals. Yazmine is a Senior at Highline High School, and has aspirations of entering the medical field after graduation. On top of being a full time student, she interns at Highline Internal Medical, volunteers at Burien CARES, and has participated in the Minds Matter Mentor program for the past three years. Her dedication to her community and to her future makes her the perfect candidate for this award. The Making Burien Awesome scholarship program was started in 2015. This will be the second year that we are offering this program to our community. Investing in the future of our community is all part of our commitment here at Discover Burien and we feel the Yazmine has a bright future ahead of her. Discover Burien will present Yazmine with her award at the Discover Burien Annual Dinner March 10th along with the Best of Burien Award winners. Tickets are available in the Discover Burien Office located at 427 sw 152nd Street.
