The Highline Heritage Museum is running an online auction to help raise funds for exhibit development in its new museum.
“Local businesses and individuals have donated items that we hope you will bid on so that the employees and volunteers can keep moving forward on the exciting exhibits planned for the museum.”
The museum is being built by the Highline Historical Society, a 25-year local non-profit.
The building is located at 819 SW 152nd Street in Burien (on the corner of Ambaum Boulevard and SW 152nd) and is scheduled to open between the end of May and the end of June.
“We will be doing a series of ‘soft openings’ for people such as the contractors who have built this for us, the donors that have provided the money and our members. We can use these smaller events to check out systems, and tailor our building and exhibits to their responses before the general public comes in. This has been a long, $5.5 million haul to put this together for the community. We appreciate the people that are willing to continue to help by donating to and shopping at this auction,” said Cyndi Upthegrove, Managing Trustee of the organization.
