Story & Photo by Aaron Wells Burien Mayor Jimmy Matta marched Monday afternoon (April 23) with the family and friends of Elizabeth Juarez, 13, one of two girls killed in a shooting on March 28. The group walked more than two miles – from City Hall to the site of the shooting in the 13900 block of Ambaum Blvd. SW and back again – to keep attention on the tragic event and raise awareness for an upcoming Youth Matters event. “Youth are not feeling like part of the community,” said Valerie, a participant in the walk. “Focus on the kids. They need to know they matter.”
