Advertiser Merrill Gardens at Burien will host a free “Lunch & Learn” on Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at 1 p.m. to help educate the public about the health risks of social isolation and loneliness among older adults.
Held at their facility at 15020 5th Ave SW (map below), the presentation will provide attendees with insights into how loneliness impacts both physical and emotional health, as well as practical strategies for improving social connection.
According to event organizers, the session will cover the causes and signs of social isolation and offer tips and local resources for staying connected. The goal is to help attendees, especially older adults living at home, find support in navigating the growing health challenge of loneliness.
“We’ll explore the causes, signs to watch for, and how loneliness can affect both your physical and emotional health,” organizers said in the event announcement .
Lunch will be provided, and the environment is described as “engaging and supportive.”
