UPDATE: A car crash that damaged a utility pole caused a power outage that affected approximately 4,400 customers in Burien’s Shorewood neighborhood Friday morning, June 27, 2025, according to Seattle City Light.

City Light first Tweeted/X’d about the outage at 5:25 a.m.

The cause remains under investigation, and power has been restored to 2,703 customers.

As of 8 a.m. though, 1,697 City Light customers are still in the dark in the area for an outage that started at 4:45 a.m. The estimated time of restoration is currently 9:30 a.m.

No injuries or damage have been reported as of Friday morning.
