Highline Public Schools is hiring paraeducators for the 2025-26 school year — essential roles that support student learning and help schools run smoothly.

Paraeducators work alongside teachers to assist students one-on-one and in small groups, reinforce classroom lessons and help create a safe, welcoming environment. 

Pay starts at $26 per hour, with bilingual paraeducator roles starting at $32 per hour. Positions are available in general education, special education and dual language classrooms. 

Highline is hosting in-person hiring fairs where applicants can meet the team and learn more: 

  • Thursday, July 10, 4:00–6:00 p.m. at White Center Heights Elementary 
  • Thursday, July 24, 4:00–6:00 p.m. at Midway Elementary School

Paraeducators support a wide range of student needs. Responsibilities may include helping with class assignments and tests, reading with students, reinforcing academic goals, supporting computer-based learning, and supervising lunchrooms, playgrounds and crosswalks. 

The job offers a flexible schedule, on-the-job training, and the chance to support students in your own community. 

Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, and one of the following: 

  • An associate degree 
  • 72 college credits 
  • A passing score on the ParaPro assessment
