Local talent will take center stage at the very first Rat City Youth Showcase this Saturday, Sept. 13, in White Center.

The free, all-ages event runs from 2 to 5 p.m. at Tim’s Tavern (map below), with doors opening at 1 p.m. for those who want to come early for lunch.

Organizers said the showcase will give young people in the region a chance to share their creativity in music, poetry, dance and more.

“The show will be run as an open mic, and all White Center youth are invited to participate to showcase music, poetry, dance, etc.,” organizers said. “If you are a young performer, if you know young performers, or if you just want to enjoy the show, be sure come out and join the fun!”

All youth are invited to perform. While performers are encouraged to fill out an artist intake form in advance, walk-ups will also be welcomed and fit in as time allows.

Donations will be collected at the event to support a neighborhood youth music fund, though attendance is free and no one will be turned away.
