The Highline Pirates struggled to find their rhythm on Thursday night, Sept. 18, falling 48-13 to Interlake in a non-conference high school football game at Highline Memorial Stadium.

Highline, ranked 104th in Washington by MaxPreps, could not overcome turnovers and a stifling Interlake defense.

The Pirates were limited to just 3.5 yards per carry on the ground and saw three passes intercepted.

The loss dropped Highline to 1-2 on the season. The Pirates now look ahead to conference play, where they will face Issaquah on Friday, Sept. 26.

Interlake, ranked 227th, improved to 2-1 behind a standout night from quarterback Julian Hayes, who accounted for five touchdowns.
